It’s that time of year again!
Now in its fourth year, the annual concert in support of Freedom from Torture (aka The Medical Foundation for the Care of Victims of Torture) and The Welsh Refugee Council is again at Stow Park Church Centre, Brynhyfryd Avenue, Newport, this Friday, November 25th at 7.30 p.m.
Tickets are £8.00 (£4.00 concessions) on the door. Proceeds from the concert will be shared equally between Freedom from Torture (reg. charity no. 1000340) and The Welsh Refugee Council (reg. charity no. 1102449).
As in previous years, the event promises to be a great, not-to-be-missed, evening's entertainment. Performers include Frankie Armstrong (a folk legend with an international reputation who has been singing professionally for over forty years), Mikey Price, Cascapella (Newport's very own community choir), Variegated Women, Cardiff Canton Singers and The Quiet Ranters.
Last year the concert was instrumental in raising funds that helped to secure interim funding for The Welsh Refugee Council's Women's Asylum Support Project that offers invaluable specialist advice to asylum seeking women on violence against women and girls. Please come along and support us and make a difference to the lives of people working towards rebuilding their lives in Wales
