If you have recently been granted status you may now need further support to access mainstream benefits and help you move on from Home Office support. The Welsh Refugee Council can help you start your new life in Wales.

We can provide advice and support on your rights, entitlements and responsibilities in relation to:

  • Housing
  • Education
  • Benefits
  • Health
  • Employment

Please do not hesitate to contact us as soon as you have been notified of your status to ensure that you are able to access any required mainstream support which may be available to you through the Department for Work and Pensions.

You can do this by booking an appointment with one of our Move-On case workers in Cardiff, Newport, Swansea or Wrexham to access one to one advice. If you wish to book an appointment or would like further information, please email us on info@wrc.wales

If you are a family with young children, we offer a Play Support Programme that includes weekly play sessions in Cardiff and Newport with regular family outings. We may also be able to support you with home visits and/or provide your child with toys or baby equipment. To access this service email us on play@services.wrc.wales
